About TopLinks

TopLinks is an independent toplist for games you can play straight in your browser: text-based MMORPGs, mafia and crime games, strategy, idle, fantasy and sci-fi titles. No downloads, no installers - open a page and play.

How the ranking works

Every game on this list has a vote button. Votes are counted per visitor per day, so a single fan cannot push a game to the top alone. The list is ordered by the votes of the current month; at the start of a new month the counters start again. That way a new game has the same chance as a title that has been around for years.

How games get listed

Developers and players can submit a game for free. A human checks every submission: the game has to be playable in a browser without a download, the description has to be honest and the link has to work. We do not host the games ourselves; we keep the list, the descriptions, the votes and the clicks.

Promoted spots

A limited number of spots above the ranking are for sale, so a game gets extra visibility. Promoted and sponsored entries are always labelled as such - both in the list and in the links themselves.

What we do not do

We do not sell votes, we do not accept payment for a better position in the ranking itself, and we do not remove a game because someone else pays more. Games that turn out to be broken, misleading or abandoned are removed.
